NON-SURGICAL LIFTING OF THE FACE & NECK

Profound RF is a new break-through technology designed to improve the appearance of skin laxity and wrinkles in the lower face and neck.

In clinical trials Profound RF was found to deliver 1/3 of the result of a surgical facelift in a single treatment. Clinical trials have also shown that a clinical response is evident in 100% of patients, with 80% of patients satisfied with the outcome at 3 months, raising to 90% satisfaction at 6 months after treatment.

How does the treatment work?

Profound RF works by creating a controlled injury to the deeper layers of the skin, which stimulates a healing response that generates new collagen formation.
In contrast to other non-surgical skin tightening technologies, Profound RF also stimulates the production of elastin and hyaluronic acid – key components of youthful skin.

During the treatment very fine needles are inserted to the skin. Next, radio frequency energy is delivered to deeper layers of the skin. The needles are able to deliver to radio frequency to the precise level in the skin where maximal effect will take place, without damaging the overlying superficial layers of skin. The scientists who developed the technology were able to calculate that maximum collagen and elastin stimulation occurs when the deeper layers are heated to 67 degrees for precisely 3 seconds. Profound is the only technology that is able to monitor the temperature of the skin in real time, allowing for precise control of these optimal parameters. It is this precise control that gives Profound a more reliable clinical response than other non-surgical skin tightening technologies.

What Happens Afterwards?

After treatment the area will be red and swollen. Because of the intensity of the treatment, swelling typically gets worse over the first couple of days before improving. As a result of this, most people chose to take a couple of days off work – usually over a weekend – to allow the swelling to come down. Within a few days swelling an redness has normally resolved to the point where it can be concealed with the use of make up. It can take a couple of weeks for all signs of treatment to completely disappear.

How Long Will It Take To See My Results?

Most people will start to notice an improvement 1 month after treatment.

By three months after treatment approximately 80% of patients will be satisfied with the outcome. Improvement continues beyond this time such that by six months after treatment 90% of people will be satisfied with the outcome of treatment.

What Are The Potential Side Effects and Complications I Need To Be Aware Of?

Profound is a new technology however to date it has largely proven to be very safe with no serious complications reported.

Depending on how your own body heals, some people may experience more prolonged bruising and swelling before they can resume normal activities. There have been some rare reports of patients developing changes in pigmentation following treatment. This is usually temporary and can be improved with other treatments.
