How Does It Work?
What is NanoPeel?
NanoPeel is an erbium:YAG laser treatment performed using the Sciton Joule platform.
The laser precisely removes an extremely thin layer of the skin’s surface with remarkable accuracy. This controlled exfoliation stimulates the skin’s natural repair process, encouraging healthier new skin cells to replace the old, damaged surface.
Because only the superficial layers of skin are treated, recovery is much quicker than with more aggressive laser resurfacing procedures, making NanoPeel an excellent choice for patients wanting noticeable improvement without significant downtime. Most patients experience only mild redness for only a day or two after treatment.

Combining the two treatments allows us to address both the quality of the skin itself and its surface finish during the same appointment, producing a more comprehensive rejuvenation than either treatment alone.

How does NanoPeel compare with HALO?
HALO remains a more advanced resurfacing treatment and is designed to treat multiple layers of the skin simultaneously, producing more significant improvements in pigmentation, texture, fine lines and overall skin quality.
NanoPeel offers a gentler alternative.
Rather than replacing HALO, NanoPeel fills an important gap. It is ideal for patients who:
- want minimal to no downtime
- are looking for regular skin maintenance
- want brighter, smoother skin before an event
- would like to enhance their BBL maintenance treatments
- are not yet ready for a full HALO resurfacing procedure
Your consultation will help determine which treatment is most appropriate for your skin and your goals.
What happens during treatment?
Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed before the laser treatment begins.
The procedure is generally well tolerated and takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Following treatment, your skin will feel similar to sunburn for the first day or two. You may notice some dry skin flaking for a few days. This is a normal part of the healing process as fresh new skin is revealed beneath.
Most patients return to normal daily activities within a day or two, although some redness may persist for a little longer depending on the settings used.
