Surgical Brazilian Butt Lift (fat transfer) has a recognised — though uncommon — risk of serious complications including fat embolism, which has been associated with deaths in published safety reviews.
Injectable buttock treatments also carry potential risks including:
- swelling and bruising
- infection
- nodules or firmness
- contour irregularities
- very rarely, vascular complications
For this reason, large-volume injectable contouring should only be performed by experienced medical professionals using appropriate technique, dilution and placement.
