The Regenerative Facelift

The Regenerative Facelift at McKeown Medical represents the next generation of facial rejuvenation: a non-surgical, collagen-based treatment protocol that rebuilds structure, strengthens skin, and restores radiance — all by stimulating your body’s natural regenerative processes.

Rather than relying volume alone, the Regenerative Facelift uses a scientifically layered combination of:

  • Sofwave® ultrasound skin tightening – to firm and lift the skin from within
  • Julaine™ PLLA filler – to regenerate deep collagen and restore structural volume
  • BBL™ or HALO™ laser resurfacing – to renew surface texture, tone and clarity

Together, these technologies create a holistic, biological facelift — improving the scaffold, skin, and surface in perfect harmony.

How Does It Work?

What is the Regenerative Facelift?

The Regenerative Facelift is not a single treatment — it’s a carefully sequenced, multi-modality protocol developed at McKeown Medical for patients seeking comprehensive rejuvenation without surgery.

It works by addressing every layer of ageing through three distinct but complementary mechanisms:

  1. Sofwave® – Structural Tightening in the Skin
Using high-intensity, parallel-beam ultrasound, Sofwave® delivers energy precisely into the mid-dermis — tightening and lifting the skin while preserving the fat beneath. This strengthens the skin’s elastic foundation without altering natural volume or contours.
  2. Julaine™ PLLA – Deep Collagen Regeneration
Next, Julaine™ (poly-L-lactic acid) is injected strategically into areas of volume loss. Instead of simply filling space, it stimulates your fibroblasts to produce fresh collagen, rebuilding the underlying architecture of the face for a naturally firm, lifted appearance that evolves over time.
  3. BBL™ and/or HALO™ Laser – Surface Renewal and Glow
Finally, advanced light or laser therapy refines the uppermost layer of the skin, targeting pigmentation, fine lines, and uneven texture. HALO™ (a hybrid fractional laser) and BBL™ (BroadBand Light) enhance cellular turnover and repair, giving the skin its youthful luminosity back.

Together, these treatments create a 360° rejuvenation that smooths, lifts, and brightens — from deep within the dermis to the skin’s surface.

Why we call it regenerative

Traditional aesthetic treatments focus on adding or removing — filling hollows, freezing muscles, or excising loose skin.

The Regenerative Facelift takes a completely different approach: it stimulates your body’s own biology to rebuild what time has depleted.

  • Collagen and elastin are re-activated, not replaced
  • Skin is re-tightened through controlled healing, not heat-induced fat loss
  • Volume is regenerated, not artificially inflated

It’s rejuvenation in its truest sense — your skin and tissues becoming stronger, denser and healthier from within.

The science behind the synergy

  1. Complementary targets:
  • Sofwave® strengthens the dermal matrix
  • Julaine™ replenishes subdermal structure
  • BBL™/HALO™ renews the epidermis

Each works at a different depth, ensuring balanced, natural improvement across all layers of the face.

  1. Sequential stimulation:
By spacing treatments over a carefully planned schedule (usually 4 weeks apart), collagen production is kept continuously active for months — resulting in ongoing improvement rather than a single-point correction.
  2. Cumulative benefit:
The more the skin regenerates, the better it performs — improved elasticity, hydration, and microvascularity contribute to lasting firmness and radiance.

Regenerate. Don’t just rejuvenate.

The Regenerative Facelift is for those who want to age differently — not by chasing volume or overcorrecting, but by restoring the integrity of their own skin.

At McKeown Medical, our regenerative approach represents the future of aesthetic medicine: scientific, subtle, and entirely authentic.

Who is suitable for a Regenerative Facelift?

This treatment is ideal for patients who:

  • Notice early to moderate facial sagging, laxity or dullness
  • Want to avoid surgical lifting or injectable fillers
  • Prefer subtle, natural rejuvenation through biological repair
  • Seek improvement in skin texture, tone, and tightness
  • Want long-term collagen renewal rather than short-term correction

It can also be used as a maintenance programme following surgical facelift or filler treatments to prolong and enhance results.

What to Expect

The treatment process

  1. Consultation
Every patient journey begins with an in-depth consultation with your doctor to assess facial structure, skin quality, and regenerative capacity. We will design a bespoke plan sequencing Sofwave®, Julaine™, and BBL/HALO in the optimal order for your skin.
  2. Treatment delivery
  3. Aftercare
Downtime is minimal; mild redness or swelling can occur for 1–3 days depending on laser intensity. Collagen production continues for several months after your final treatment.
  4. Results timeline
    • Weeks 0–6: Subtle tightening, improved texture
    • Months 2–4: Visible lift and smoother contour as collagen builds
    • Months 6 +: Skin appears firmer, more radiant, and youthful

How it compares to a surgical facelift

The Regenerative Facelift does not replace surgical lifting, but it offers a biological alternative for those not ready for surgery — or as an ongoing maintenance solution following it.

Surgical Facelift Regenerative Facelift
Invasiveness   Surgical incisions under anaesthetic Non-surgical; topical or local anaesthetic only
Mechanism Physically repositions skin and tissue Stimulates collagen to rebuild support naturally
Downtime 2–3 weeks 1–5 days (depending on laser)
Longevity 5–10 years 18–24 months (maintained with boosters)
Best for Significant sagging or excess skin Mild–moderate laxity, volume loss, texture decline

The two approaches can also complement each other— with regenerative therapies helping maintain surgical results long-term.

Common Questions

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients undergo a staged programme over several months: one Sofwave® session, three Julaine™ sessions, and one resurfacing treatment. Smaller maintenance sessions are typically recommended.

Is it painful?

Discomfort is minimal. Topical anaesthetic and cooling are used during Sofwave® and laser treatments; Julaine™ injections include local anaesthetic for comfort.

When will I see results?

Early tightening is visible within weeks, but collagen regeneration continues for 3–6 months, producing steadily improving firmness and definition.

Will it change the shape of my face?

No, because the focus is on collagen regeneration, not filler volume, results look entirely natural and maintain your unique facial character.

Is there any downtime?

Mild redness or swelling may occur for a few days, especially after laser treatments, but most patients resume normal activity the next day.
