Rough skin

Many patients complain of the textural changes and roughened skin that occur in later life, and which can be attributed to the impact of both environmental and lifestyle factors. Switching your skincare to a regimen that includes exfoliating agents or enzymes will help to sweep away dead cells and improve skin quality; however, a more effective method is to use a powerful yet precise resurfacing device. Our cutting-edge laser, combined with our experience in treating rough skin, not only results in a softer, smoother complexion, but it also enhances radiance and luminosity, for skin that glows with health.

What can help?

When rough skin texture issues are mild and the patient wants a treatment with no downtime, our go-to treatment is the BBL device from Sciton. As well as improving the texture of the skin, it also improves the appearance of pores, as well as reducing uneven pigmentation and blood vessels for an overall improvement in skin quality. Typically, we recommend a course of three rough skin treatments, one month apart, followed by a single maintenance rough skin session every six months.

Tailor-made solutions

When rough skin texture issues are more significant, and when the patient doesn’t mind some downtime, we add in the Halo laser. The Halo laser works by removing columns of skin tissue to initiate a healing response, which results in effective skin regeneration. The procedure typically results in a downtime of around 5 days, during which you can expect some redness and swelling.

Full laser resurfacing

When patients have the most significant changes to the rough texture of the skin, and they want the best degree of improvement possible for their skin, then the treatment of choice is full skin resurfacing. This is the most invasive option, with 10-14 days’ worth of downtime; however, the results are dramatic and long-lasting.

Common Questions

What are the benefits?

Our bespoke laser treatments enable us to rejuvenate the skin while stimulating new collagen and refining the complexion.

Which anaesthetic is used?

We use cold air to cool the skin and provide a comforting sensation during the treatment, distracting from any heat generated as a byproduct of the treatment

What's the downtime?

Following BBL treatment, there is typically no downtime. Following Halo laser treatment, the skin will be red and feel sunburnt for a few days, before turning dry and flaky. Most patients can expect to get back to social activities within 5 days of having the treatment.
