The Duty of Candour is a statutory requirement that ensures healthcare organisations are transparent with patients when errors occur that result in harm. It means:

• Promptly informing patients about incidents.
• Offering a sincere apology.
• Explaining what happened and the steps being taken to prevent future occurrences.

Being open and honest is fundamental to maintaining trust between patients and healthcare providers. The Duty of Candour fosters accountability and supports continuous improvement in care standards.

We are proud to report that McKeown Medical has not had any Duty of Candour incidents to date. While we strive to maintain the highest standards of care, we are fully prepared to act transparently and responsibly if an incident were to occur.
