BodyTite is a minimally-invasive, skin-tightening liposuction technology using radio frequency energy. The procedure involves:
A small access incision followed by traditional liposuction to remove targeted fat.
Internal heating of the dermis via a radio-frequency probe, stimulating collagen and tightening the treated skin layer.
Application of external compression and controlled healing to support the new contour.
Benefits include:
Precision fat removal from multiple body areas (abdomen, flanks, thighs, arms, back)
Simultaneous skin-tightening, resulting in smoother, firmer result
Shorter recovery and faster return to normal life
Long-lasting contour improvement when combined with maintaining a stable weight
This treatment is ideal for patients with small to moderate fat deposits and some skin laxity who desire both fat removal and skin firming — rather than liposuction alone or full surgical excision.
If you’re considering BodyTite liposuction in Glasgow, our consultant-led, all-female team is here to support you every step of the way.
To arrange a consultation with Dr Kavita Sharma, contact us today or complete our online enquiry form — and take your first step towards a body shape that feels confident and refined.
Your journey begins with a conversation with your Patient Relationship Manager (PRM), who will answer your initial questions and arrange your consultation with Dr Kavita.
During this appointment Kavita will listen carefully to your body concern areas, assess fat distribution and skin quality, and advise whether BodyTite alone or in combination with other treatments would best achieve your desired outcome. You’ll receive a written summary of your consultation and a cooling-off period before scheduling surgery.
Ahead of surgery, our practice nurse will contact you for a pre-operative assessment, reviewing your medical history and coordinating with our anaesthetist. You’ll be advised to avoid alcohol and nicotine (including vapes, patches and gums) for two weeks before the procedure, and you’ll need a responsible adult to accompany you home and stay with you overnight after your procedure. Our nurse will make sure you understand all of these practical details before your procedure.
The BodyTite liposuction procedure is performed under deep sedation, which allows you to sleep comfortably through the operation without a full general anaesthetic.
The surgeon uses small incisions to perform liposuction and then applies radio-frequency internal heating to tighten the skin layer over the treated area(s).
The length of the procedure depends on the number of areas treated, but typically takes around 1.5–3 hours. After the procedure you will be moved to the recovery area and, once ready, you can return home – most people are ready to leave just an hour after the end of their procedure.
Initial recovery involves some swelling, bruising and soreness in the treated zone for the first 1–2 weeks. You’ll be fitted into compression garments which must be worn as directed to optimise contour and healing.
You will get a call from our practice nurse the day after your procedure just to check on how you are. You will then come back into see the nurse one week later to check that all of your wounds are healing normal and there are no signs of infection.
You’ll then come in for a follow up appointment with Dr Sharma at six and twelve weeks to check on the outcome of your procedure. Most swelling settles within a month, and final contour effects will continue to refine over the following months as your tissues adapt.
We will continue to follow up with you until we are sure you are completely satisfied with the outcome of your procedure.
BodyTite combines standard liposuction with radio-frequency assisted skin-tightening. While traditional liposuction removes fat, it does not address skin laxity. BodyTite simultaneously contracts the deeper layers of the skin, helping achieve a smoother, firmer result — particularly useful in areas where mild to moderate skin laxity is present. If you have severe skin laxity, a tummy tuck operation may be better.
Ideal candidates are those with stubborn pockets of fat and some skin laxity who want contouring without the downtime of major surgery. It suits patients close to their ideal weight but struggling with localised areas, such as the abdomen, arms, inner thighs, flanks or back.
During your consultation, Dr Kavita Sharma will assess your anatomy and confirm whether BodyTite is appropriate or whether an alternative treatment would give you a better outcome.
BodyTite is performed under deep sedation, so patients are comfortable throughout the procedure. Afterwards, you may experience swelling, bruising and tightness for 1–2 weeks, along with some soreness. Most patients return to desk-based work after a week, with gradual return to full activity over the following weeks. Wearing your compression garments as advised is essential for optimal results.
The fat removed during liposuction is permanently gone, and the radio-frequency tightening effect continues to improve the skin for several months. Long-term results depend on maintaining a stable weight and a healthy lifestyle. Most patients enjoy lasting contour refinement for many years.
The incisions for BodyTite are very small — usually just a few millimetres — and are placed discreetly where possible. These heal into fine, faint marks that typically become barely noticeable over time. Your post-operative care plan will include scar-care guidance to support the best possible outcome.
You will notice some improvement immediately, but swelling can take several weeks to settle. Skin-tightening effects continue to develop as collagen is remodelled, with most patients seeing their final results by 3–6 months. A follow-up schedule with our nursing team and Dr Sharma ensures you are supported throughout your recovery.
