Have you considered liposuction but you don’t fancy the idea of anaesthesia, recovery, compression garments and all of the potential complications of surgery? Now there is a non-surgical alternative that ACTUALLY WORKS. Just look at the case studies of our patients who have been treated here, in our Glasgow clinic. These results have been achieved without surgery, with a combination of our expert medical team’s knowledge and the extraordinary patented, FDA approved CoolSculpting® technology.
Most of us have the odd little bump or pocket of fat on our body that we are not too keen on. Often these bumps can be in places that are genetically programmed such as the saddle bags, mummy tummy, muffin tops, love handles, double chin, ‘bra fat’ that just will not shift, no matter how much we diet and exercise. Sometimes these ‘little bulges’ can really get to us, and affect how we feel about ourselves both in and out of clothes. That is where CoolScultping® can really help.
CoolSculpting® is the only FDA-approved, non-surgical fat reduction treatment in the world. The technology was originally developed by Harvard scientists and sold to Allergan (the company behind Botox®) in a multi-billion dollar deal. The technology is protected by over 150 global patents and whilst there are now many attempts to copy CoolSculpting®, no other machine has access to the patented features that make CoolSculpting® so uniquely safe and consistently effective. We now have three CoolSculpting machines in our clinic, making us one of the biggest CoolSculpting centres outside of London.

Since then, the applicator heads have been redesigned to make them more effective and efficient. Some treatments can be complete in as little as 35 minutes with the new design, whilst more awkwardly shaped areas – such as the double chin or ‘bra fat’ can be treated with new custom designed hand pieces. We have invested a full stock of all applicator heads, assisting us in the process of customising the treatments specifically to each individual. As well as the full range of applicator designs, we also have three CoolSculpting® machines to allow us to treat multiple areas simultaneously quickly, and effectively without the downtime or risks of surgery.
It has been created with two interchangeable contours which safely and effectively treat the unique shape of the upper arms. Due to it’s small shape and size, it’s also versatile enough to tackle small pockets of fat on other areas of the body too such as the knees.
You can normally start to see results after around 4 weeks, although it takes up to 4 months to see the full results. During your CoolSculpting consultation at our Glasgow clinic, we can discuss a tailored treatment plan that will meet your specific needs.
Actually, this is not the case. When the fat cells are destroyed by the cryolipolysis process they are gone forever and so long as you maintain your current body weight then the contour will remain the same – similar to the longevity of liposuction.
The results are long lasting and noticeable. CoolSculpting® works by precisely cooling the temperature of tissue to a predetermined level whereby it is possible for the overlying skin to survive, but not the underlying fat cells. The fat cells then undergo a program of controlled cell death known as ‘apoptosis’ and are naturally eliminated from the body over a number of weeks following the treatment. This results in a noticeable and long lasting reduction in the unwanted fat bulge.
It is approved because of it’s patented technology, safety features and ability to deliver consistent results. There have been over 7 million CoolSculpting treatments performed worldwide, without any major complications making it a much safer alternative to liposuction.
Because CoolSculpting® is carried out without the need for surgery, there is very little downtime and most patients can return to their normal activities right away.
The cost of the treatment varies according to the size of the area being treated and the amount of fat that needs to be removed. Each treatment area treated by one applicator head is referred to as a treatment ‘cycle’.
What we have learned about CoolSculpting® is that to achieve the most impressive results, it is necessary to combine multiple treatment cycles using a range of different applicator heads to create a bespoke plan tailored to your body shape.
Usually multiple treatment cycles are performed at a single treatment session, although sometimes two separate sessions – four weeks apart – are suggested.
Generally the larger the area, and the thicker the fat, the more cycles that will be required. At your initial consultation we will make a number of measurements so we can work out exactly what the best treatment parameters will be to achieve the results you are looking for. As a general guide, the table below gives an estimate of the number that may be required per body area.
