Dr Darren McKeown is a leading figure in the field of facial aesthetics. He has two busy practices: one in his home city of Glasgow and another in Harley Street in London.
Dr McKeown began his medical career by studying and training in plastic surgery. As a young medical student, he spent a summer elective term with a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon at a time when a then little known drug was beginning to make a big impact at the other side of the Atlantic. The drug was called Botox®.
He was so inspired by what he witnessed being achieved in America – without surgery – that it made a lasting impression on him and his ideas on the management of the ageing face. After graduating from medical school he spent 5 years working in the NHS, becoming a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and travelling along the traditional plastic surgery career pathway. At the same time, still inspired by the work he saw in California, he set to work privately developing his own practice in the emerging field of minimally invasive aesthetic medicine.
Over the years, Dr McKeown’s reputation as an aesthetic practitioner grew from strength to strength and he decided to focus his career exclusively on minimally invasive technology, knowing that becoming highly specialist in one small field was the key to achieving the best results for his patients. In his facial aesthetic & botox clinics in Glasgow and London he now heads up a small but carefully selected team of cosmetic experts, each dedicated to one highly specialist area of cosmetic practice. This approach is designed to ensure everyone who comes through the door of a Dr Darren McKeown clinic can be guaranteed the best possible treatment and, most importantly, the best possible results.
