Not all lip aesthetics are about volume! Very often its the shape of the lip thats the issue, rather than volume. This patient had tried filler before but without achieving the outcome she wanted. She came to see the very talented @bramhallplasticsurgery who diagnosed the real issue - the length of her lip. Her performed a lip lift procedure to shorten the lip, which everted the red part of the and improve the promotions. The after photo is a couple of months later. The scar under the nose still looks a little red, but that will continue to fade as the months go by. She had no filler or any other volume added to her lip - just the lift.
She`s absolutely delighted with the results - what do you think?
Rejuvenating the lower eyelid varies much more from patient to patient than any other cosmetic concern. Surgical treatments have always had varying results, and we now understand that the anatomical changes that contribute to ageing of the lower lid are much more variable, so the right solution is much more complex and nuanced than the upper eyelid.
This patient`s main issues were fine lines, wrinkles and darkness as well as loss of volume in the mid-face. Performing a traditional surgical blepharoplasty for her would not have solved all of these issues, and could have made some of them worse. To treat her lower lids we first did some aggressive laser resurfacing - this removes the fine lines and wrinkles and tightens the skin. We then came back and restored volume to the mid-face, focusing on the junction between the lower eyelid and the cheek.
She is a couple of months out from her treatment and delighted with the results. What do you think?
The nose is one of the most central features on the face and is one of the features complain about most commonly.
This lady hated her nose her whole life, but would never contemplate rhinoplasty surgery because of the risks associated with surgery. She came to see me to see if I could do anything without surgery and so we agreed to try some filler, to lift the tip and disguise the bump. Filler in the nose is not risk free, but overall it is lower risk then surgery.
The patient was delighted with the result and her only regret is that she never did it earlier in her life. What do you think?

We`re back on TV! Our exclusive behind-the-scenes documentary is back on BBC Scotland this week at 9pm and available on iPlayer - link in our bio!
We let the cameras in to follow along at our clinic: from the people having procedures to our team of experts performing them, and our wonderful little addition to the team! Catch it while you can!
The mouth area is one of the most prominent signs of ageing. The changes that happen around the mouth are complex, not just the loss of volume which is why over-relying on fillers can result in an unnatural appearance.
This patient had one of the very common signs of ageing around the mouth - lengthening of the top lip, which is the whole space between the base of the nose to the mouth. This patient had an upper lip lift, with an incision around the base of her nose to remove skin and lift the muscle. She also had a lip corner lift, with an incision around the edge of the lip at the sides. Finally she had a little filler in her top lip and mouth corners for a comprehensive rejuvenation. You can see where the incisions were made and the areas removed in the second image.
The surgical procedures were performed by the one and only @bramhallplasticsurgery. The patient is over the moon with her results! What do you think?
Thank you to our lovely patient for allowing us to share her pictures with you. This patient had full laser resurfacing three months ago and was back in the clinic for a follow up appointment absolutely loving life with her new skin.
She hated the lines and wrinkles around her mouth as well as the darkness and wrinkles under her eyes. She had previously tried to correct these issues with fillers although that wasn’t the best treatment option for these issues, so she decided to bite the bullet and come to the clinic for a full resurface.
It’s a big procedure, but she said she would do it again in a heartbeat for the results she has achieved. What do you think?

Big news! We`ve just launched a new online resource for all of our patients at drdarrenmckeown.com.
We could call it a new website, but that wouldn`t really do it justice.
This is the product of almost four years of work painstakingly listening to the questions our patients ask us over and over again and piecing together a resource that should answer almost every question you might possibly have about aesthetic treatment options.
We’re very thankful to all of the patients who have allowed us to use their pictures to extensively illustrate what the best treatment options are for each feature.
We`ve also included video content to almost every page so you can watch for yourself and see how the treatments work alongside the results, as well as in depth videos from our team, with more to come!
I really hope you find the new site to be informative and helpful in educating you on your best treatment options.
Here`s a quick whistlestop tour of the new site and the link is in our bio. If you have the time to take a look, I’d love to hear your feedback - particularly if there is anything you think we’ve missed or would like to see added. Let me know in the comments.
The deep plane face and neck lift is now accepted the gold standard technique of facelifting. There are still not many surgeons who can perform this technique and our exceptionally talented @bramhallplasticsurgery is one of the few who can. The procedure goes deeper under the muscles of the face to release the retaining ligaments and truly reposition the soft tissues, rather than simply placing tension on them. It`s a much more intricate technique that demands more time and attention to detail, but we believe our patients deserve this. This patient is nearly 3 months out from her procedure. You can see the scars have started to fade already and she is delighted with the improvement so far. Thank you so much to her and to all of our patients who allow us to share their pictures to show you how we do what we do!
