Pigmentation Removal

We offer Pigmentation Removal from our clinics in London and Glasgow.

Skin pigmentation such as freckles or age spots can have a negative impact on the appearance of our skin complexion and tone. Thankfully they can be effectively removed using the latest laser and IPL technology.

HOW DO IPL MACHINES WORK?

IPL works by releasing a small, sharp bust of filtered light that is absorbed by the high concentration of the melanin found in patches of uneven pigmentation such as freckles, sun spots, age spots or ‘liver spots’.

The rapid absorption of the light results in the generation of heat which in turn destroys the cells which cause the pigmentation.

Side effects and complications

The skin that surrounds the pigmented lesion may become red immediately after the treatment. This will usually resolve within a few hours to a couple of days. Very rarely you can develop a small blister or the skin can become temporarily lighter or darker following treatment. The risks of side effects is greatly reduced however if you follow all pre- and post-treatment instructions.
